School Closing Policy & Extreme Weather Conditions

The suspension of classes for students applies to all students on the UMB Campus and can occur only by announcement from the UMB President. Students should listen to radio stations WBAL (1090 AM) in Baltimore or WTOP (1500 AM) in Washington for announcements and decisions regarding classes in inclement weather. Closing announcements are also available at 410-706-8622 and on the UMB website.

Students assigned to hospitals for clinical rotations should adhere to the policies of the hospital to which they are assigned. The suspension of classes by the University does not necessarily release either faculty or students from clinical responsibilities to patients. Students should always exercise good judgement when contemplating travel in inclement weather. If a student cannot reach a clinical site safely, they should notify the Office of Student Affairs and the supervisor for their rotation.
