The Shock Trauma Center

Description and Goals:

The student will be responsible admitting and rendering care to his/her patients. He/She will be expected to care for the patient on the ward as well as care for the patient in the operating room (under the guidance of an attending surgeon/surgical fellow). At the end of the rotation, the student should be able to manage patients on the wards, have a deep fund of knowledge regarding soft tissue infections, be able to understand the principles of surgery of patients with soft tissue infections, and the management of these patients in the operating room. The student will be under the supervision of the attending surgeon managing the service.

1 per rotation (1 month)

7:30 am until operative day is finished or 6 pm, which ever is earlier. No overnight call.
