Family/Community Medicine: Ambulatory - FAPH 541

Prerequisites:

Students must be in good academic standing and have completed the Family Medicine Clerkship.

Location:

University of Maryland, Dept of Family & Community Medicine; 29 South Paca Street; Baltimore, MD 21201
Other sites could include: select community family medicine practices.

Description and Goals:

• Receive in depth training and experience in seeing a broad breadth of patients commonly seen in family medicine.

• Develop a greater appreciation for the ways in which a family physician can help his/her community.

• Gain a greater appreciation of the versatile ways in which family physicians practice medicine.

• Experience the practice of family medicine under the tutelage of community physician leaders who manage busy practices with high expertise.

• Receive didactic instruction at departmental learning activities, including AM morning report, Core and Grand Rounds.
