The Transgenic Core’s objective is to provide a full range of microinjection- related services to the investigators of the School of Medicine. The facility will also provide advice and consultation on gene modification projects, including animal breeding and phenotypic analysis. The facility will strive to keep UM-SOM at the cutting edge of transgenic technology.

Injection of lentiviral constructs, electroporation of embryonic stem cells, and injections of blastocysts (both C57BL/6 and albino C57BL/6) are currently available.

Please be aware that outside institutions are assessed a surchage to our normal prices as follows:

• 25% Academic and Non-Profit Institutions
• 50% Commercial Entities

We are currently unable to do cryopreservations for outside institutions.
