Education and Training

Ongoing education and training in protection of human subjects is a federal requirement.

The HRPO takes a proactive approach and works collaboratively with other research entities to provide ongoing education and training. To ensure the safe conduct of all individuals engaged in human subjects research the following education/training programs are required and/or offered at UMB:

  1. Good Practices in Clinical Research (Online) (GCRC)

Additionally, an excellent PowerPoint presentation is offered and should be reviewed by anyone involved in human research. Titled "Human Research Protections: Historical, Ethical & Regulatory Perspectives for Good Clinical Practices" is available for download by clicking HERE.

 

CITI Training

All members of the scientific and research community are REQUIRED to complete the CITI Training Refresher Course by the anniversary date of your last CITI course.  Failure to complete the refresher course may result in loss of research privilages.  If you have taken the CITI Training within the last year, you are only required to take the refresher course on the anniversary of your initial completion.  Log on at https://www.citiprogram.org/default.asp and complete your training TODAY!
