Diane C. Rouse, RN

Research Specialist

Ms. Rouse has recently joined the National Study Center.  She has been with the University of Maryland Medical System since 1990.  Initially she worked in the Open Heart Critical Care Recovery Unit and joined the Trauma Resuscitation Unit in late 1991.  She earned her Bachelors of Nursing degree at Stockton State College in New Jersey.

Prior to her move to Maryland she resided in southern New Jersey working in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital.   Her primary role throughout her career has been as a staff/charge nurse and educator.  Although her major focus has been at the bedside, she has always enjoyed teaching fellow staff members.  Having a strong interest in education, Diane was an active member of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Education Council.  As a member of the council, she participated in the development and implementation of the annual Competency Marathon.  She taught thoracic trauma on a tri-yearly basis for Trauma Theory.  As a member of the committee she was responsible for the development and presentation of “Topics in Trauma” sponsored by the Education    Council for nurses, paramedics and EMS, providing a wide variety of topics and speakers

Since her exposure and peripheral participation in multiple and varied research studies conducted in the Trauma Resuscitation Unit, her interest and focus are now in research.
