Timothy J. Kerns, MS
Database Engineer
Timothy Kerns is an epidemiologist and database engineer. For more than a decade, he has gained considerable experience in the manipulation and use of large datasets relating to motor vehicle crashes and injury.
Tim has co-authored numerous journal articles on highway safety. Exceptionally talented as a speaker, he has presented results from independent research projects at local as well as national health and injury conferences. Currently, he is project director for the Crash Outcome Data Evaluation System (CODES) and the Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network (CIREN) projects funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Division of the American Trauma Society and of the Executive Board of the Association of Traffic Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP).
He received a Master’s degree in Emergency Health Services (Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine) from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
