Kimberly Auman, MS
Epidemiologist
Kimberly Auman has spent her career working on injury-related research. Kim received her Master’s degree in epidemiology and preventive medicine from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (1995). Before joining the Study Center, where she has worked as an epidemiologist for over 10 years, she held the positions of data collector and data manager for the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Clinical Trauma Registry. Her research interests include alcohol and trauma, outcomes of mild traumatic brain injury, work-related injury surveillance and motorcycle-related trauma.
Her considerable experience includes over 15 years of using SAS for data analysis and using Access for design and development of data bases.
Currently, Kim manages the following projects: 1) Alcohol Use/Dependence in Trauma Patients; 2) Multidisciplinary Evaluation of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: Early Predictors of Outcome; 3) A Comprehensive Surveillance of Occupational Injury in Maryland; and 4) Characteristics of Motorcycle Operators. In addition to these projects, Kim serves on the following committees: 1) MIEMSS Trauma Quality Improvement; 2) MIEMSS Pediatric Quality Improvement; 3) TraumaNet (Research; Maryland Trauma Registry, Education & Prevention).
