Master's in Genetic Counseling (MGC)

Requirements for Application

  • The Graduate Record Examination (G.R.E.) Aptitude Test (General Test only). Scores cannot be more than five years old at the time of application.

  • All applicants who are non-native speakers of English must submit a TOEFL score along with their application.

  • Three letters of recommendation.

  • A personal statement of career goals and interest in the genetic counseling field.

All application documents, along with a $60.00 non-refundable application fee (made payable to University of Maryland), must be received by our office by February 1st. All applications and supporting materials will be reviewed and selected candidates will be offered a personal interview. Notification of admission is made in late spring. Four to five students are accepted per year.
