U.S. - Egypt Joint Program for Junior Scientists

This program provides up to six months of funding for Egyptian Junior Scientists. Junior scientists are individuals who are within 10 years of receiving their PhD degrees.

Special Joint Program in Research Ethics

A special program has been developed for those wanting to pursue advanced training in research ethics. This six-month training consits of:

  • Two Months of academic study during June/July at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD, USA. Academic study consists of:
    • Graduate level course work:
      • Ethical Issues in Clinical Reserach (3 Credits)
      • Ethical Issues in International Research Ethics (3 Credits)
      • Ethical Theory (2 Credits)
    • Practical experiences in the ethical review of research
    • Observation of research ethics committee meeting

  • Four Months involved with performance of a project in Research Ethics at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD, USA. Examples of projects include:
    • Research project in research ethics
    • Development of a curriculum in research ethics
    • Development of teaching materials in research ethics
