Master of Public Health (MPH)
With Graduate Courses in Research Ethics
The Master of Public Health consists of 42 credits and can include 10 credits of course work in research ethics. This combination recognizes the importance of training in epidemiology, research methodology and research ethics. This degree will give professionals the necessary skills to supervise and conduct research and become experts in the ethical review of research protocols.
This Master training will use a combination of on-site courses and on-line (distance learning) courses that will minimize the time needed to be at the University of Maryland campus.

Flexible Degree Pathways
The Master's Program is designed to be completed as a full-time or as a part-time student, with various semesters either as face-to-face or as online.
Example of Timeline for a Full-Time Student:

Who May Apply:
Individuals from the specialties of Medicine, Community Health, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Philosophy, Research Coordinators, and others interested in health research.
Funding:
Several scholarships (covering tuition fees, living expenses, and airfare) are available on a competitive basis to individuals from low- and middle-income countries. Self-funded individuals are welcome to apply.
Tuition Fees: approximately $900/credit
Admission Requirements:
- TOEFL examination
- GRE is not required for individuals with a professional degree (e.g., MD, PhD, MPH)
- Transcripts of grades from previous universities
- 3 letters of references
- Personal statement of academic goals
