Endocrinology, Diabetes & Nutrition Open Faculty Positions

Genetics/Genomic Medicine (Position #: 03-309-462): The interdepartmental Program in Genetics and Genomic Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking candidates at the Associate,Professor/Professor rank whose background and experience will support appointment on the tenure track. Qualified candidates should have expertise in human genetics, genetic epidemiology, molecular genetics (including model systems), statistical genetics, bioinformatics, pharmacogenomics, functional genomics, or related fields. This position offers outstanding opportunities for independent and collaborative research in a highly interactive, multidisciplinary environment at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition (Position #'s: 3-309-523, 525, 526): We are seeking three new faculty members to join a vibrant group of 27 current faculty (see http://medschool.umaryland.edu/medicine/default.asp). The open positions are for a Professor or Associate Professor to assume the role of Head of the Endocrine Section at the Baltimore VAMC and contribute to the clinical, teaching and research programs at the VA and University. Two clinician educator/investigator positions are available at the Assistant Professor to Professor level. Clinical responsibilities will include management of diabetes in the comprehensive multi-disciplinary setting of the Joslin Diabetes Center at the University of Maryland, and general endocrinology in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Must be board eligible/certified in Endocrinology. Successful applicants will be expected to develop an active research program in clinical/translational or basic science and assist with the teaching duties of the Division. Tenure status/salary dependent upon candidate background.

 

Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition (Position #: 3-309-527):   Professor of Associate Professor to join investigators engaged in genetic, molecular and cellular, clinical-physiological, and epidemiological research in the area of obesity and nutrition-related diseases. The candidate will assume a major leadership role in its NIH-funded inter-institutional Maryland Clinical Nutrition Research Unit (http://medschool.umaryland.edu/cnru/index.asp), build an independent research program in nutrition and obesity research, and participate in the teaching duties of the School of Medicine.  MD and PhD candidates will be considered.  Departmental appointment and tenure status/salary dependent upon candidate background.
