The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is focused on cutting-edge research into the causes and treatments of diseases of the airway and lungs such as asthma and COPD.

That research is implemented at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), giving hope and often improved outcomes to critically ill patients, such as those in the Lung Transplant Program.

We also oversee a Sleep Disorders Center, which offers treatment for a variety of sleep problems, including narcolepsy and sleep apnea.

Senior Academic Pulmonary Clinician - (Position number 03-309-693):

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified Pulmonologist/Intensivist at the Associate or Full Professor level to direct the clinical programs of the Division. Applicants must have strong clinical, teaching, and administrative skills. Preference will be given to applicants with an ongoing clinical research program and those with clinical expertise in airways disease and/or are BC/BE in sleep medicine. 

Asthma Research - (Position number 03-309-694):

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a Physician Scientist at the Associate or Full Professor level to join the University of Maryland Asthma Research Program. Applicants must be BC in pulmonary and critical care medicine and have ongoing NIH-sponsored basic or translational research programs focused on asthma. 

Overnight Intensivist  - (Position number 03-309-738):

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a BC/BE intensivist to staff our state-of-the-art MICU at the University of Maryland Medical Center during evening and overnight hours.  A strong interest in teaching is required. 

Sleep Pulmonologist in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine - (Position number 03-309-766):

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland seeks a Sleep Medicine BC/BE pulmonologist at the Assistant Professor level to join the University of Maryland Sleep Disorders Center located at the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus, which is fully accredited by the AASM, and the Baltimore VAMC Sleep Disorders Program.  Successful candidates will possess strong clinical, teaching and research skills.     

Academic Pulmonary and Critical Care  - (Position numbers 03-309-777/778):

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland seeks two BE/BC pulmonary/critical care physicians for our expanding critical care program.   Applicants with a strong interest in teaching and clinical research are preferred.   

Transplant Pulmonologist  - (Position numbers 03-309-780):

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seek a transplant pulmonologist at the Associate Professor/Professor level to join a 3-person transplant pulmonologist team and direct the University of Maryland Baltimore pulmonary transplant program. The lung transplant program is centered at the University of Maryland Medical Center. The successful applicant will be BE/BC in pulmonary and critical care and have experience in transplant pulmonology as well as strong clinical, teaching and research skills

Salary, rank and title will be commensurate with experience.  Candidates should submit cover letter, CV and a brief statement summarizing clinical and research interests to Jeffrey D.
