Third Annual Conference on Mucosal Immunology
June 11 & 12, 2007

The Mucosal Biology Research Center (MBRC) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore is holding it third annual conference on Mucosal Immunology on June 11 and 12, 2007. This year the overall theme will be "Mucosal Responses to Microorganisms in the GI Tract". The purpose of the symposium is to promote interactions among research institutions in the Baltimore/Washington corridor using a format that provides both formal and informal opportunities to discuss research with other scientists. The participants will be clinical and basic scientists from the area institutions including NIH, The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Johns Hopkins, Georgetown and George Washington Universities as well as the University of Maryland. The group will include graduate and medical students, clinical and basic science fellows, junior faculty as well as established investigators, all of whom are interested in the area of mucosal biology. A major focus of the group is immunology/inflammation. The program includes invited speakers, who will give state-of-the-art lectures during the 2-day conference in addition to oral and poster presentations of submitted abstracts.
