Requesting Network Jack Installation/Activation

Most rooms in School of Medicine buildings have several network jacks situated in convenient locations. Some jacks have not been activiated and will not function until properly serviced. Prior to connecting computer equipment to an existing network jack, contact the Help Desk. If necessary, a technician will be dispatched to activate the dormant network jack.

Occasionally, additional network jacks may be needed. This generally requires installation of new jacks, cable and data switching equipment. To request network jack installation, contact the Help Desk and provide your name, telephone number, jack location, number of data connects required and a fund number to be billed. If work needs to be performed by a campus organizations, requests will be scheduled with the appropriate personnel.
