Public Relations Manager, Part-time
The School of Medicine, Center for Integrative Medicine, is currently seeking a Public Relations Manager. The selected candidate is responsible for the level of public relations and media relations coverage for campus, or a school or department, providing management of public relations strategies and tactics, and day-to-day management of staff, where present. The Public Relations Manager will spearhead recruitment, training, and retention functions to ensure optimum staffing of communications professionals along with assisting leadership in proactive and reactive relationships with internal and external constituencies. The selected candidate may serve in the stead of leadership for internal meetings and as a liaison with external audiences.

Administrative Assistant
The School of Medicine, Center for Integrative Medicine, is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant II position. Under general supervision, this position provides complex administrative support to an individual, office, department or program. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of the organization or program where assigned, skill in working with issues related to policy, procedures, and confidential matters, and involves considerable participation in the work of the supervisor. Incumbents exercise discretion and judgment with considerable consequence of error.

Research Assistant
Center for Integrative Medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine has 1-2 research assistant/project coordinator positions open, starting immediately. The starting salary is $12--$20 per hour, depending on the experience and performance.

Job Qualifications |
|
At least two years of college education (preferably with college degree); able to spend 20-30 hours per week on the job (possibility of more hours); good communication and writing skills, as well being detail-oriented. Experience or interested in research, issues related to complementary and alternative medicine, bio-energy medicine (such as qigong or meditation), substance abuse, and/or health psychology are definitely a plus. Candidate with drug counseling experience will have high priority to be considered. Depending on your experience and career plan. |

Job Description |

Assist the principal investigator in NIH-funded research projects -- clinical study of meditation or self-enhancement therapy for treatment of drug addiction, therapy development study and survey study. Major duties include literature review, preparing paperwork for study sessions, coordinating clinical sessions with participants, performing quality assurance procedure, conducting follow-up interview, data entry and data management. A lot of opportunities to learn and to do hand-on clinical research. Excellent working environment with opportunities to interact with some leading researchers in the areas.
