Consumer Summaries

The CAM Field staff is partnering with Gill Gyte and Janet Wale of the Consumer Network of the Cochrane Collaboration to coordinate the preparation of plain language, brief summaries of Cochrane Reviews that are user-friendly, accessible, and quality-assessed. These Consumer Summaries will be posted on the CAM Field website so that they will be freely available to everyone. Coordinating the preparation of these Consumer Summaries involves liaising with the Cochrane Review Group Editorial bases, as well as with the actual systematic reviewers and consumer advocacy organizations. The aim is to ensure that the high quality science of the Cochrane Reviews is maintained, while also including the perspective of consumers who may use the therapies. This project is being supported by Grant Number R24 AT001293 from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). The contents of the summaries are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the NCCAM, the National Institutes of Health, or The Cochrane Collaboration.
