Portland Research and Training Center on Family Support and Children’s Mental Health,
National Wraparound Initiative

The National Wraparound Initiative (NWI) is part of the Portland Research and Training Center. The Center's activities focus on improving services to families whose children have mental, emotional or behavioral disorders through a set of related research and training programs. The National Wraparound Initiative is an attempt to engage experts nationally in a process of defining standards and compiling specific strategies for conducting high-quality Wraparound.

National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health, Georgetown University
The National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health is part of the Georgetown University Child Development Center. Located in the Nation's capital, the mission of the Georgetown TA Center is to assist states and communities in building systems of care that are child-and family-centered, culturally competent, coordinated and community-based. Since 1984, NTAC has been serving as a national resource center for policy and technical assistance to improve service delivery and outcomes for children and adolescents with, or at risk of, serious emotional disturbance and their families.

The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health
The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health (TA Partnership) operates under contract with the federal Center for Mental Health Services to provide technical assistance to system-of-care communities funded by the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program.

The Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health
The Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health (FFCMH), a national family-run organization, serves to provide advocacy at the national level for the rights of children and youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges and their families. FFCMHA provides leadership and technical assistance to a nation-wide network of family-run organizations. In addition, FFCMH hopes to collaborate with family-run and other child-serving organizations to transform mental health care in America.

The Research and Training Center for Children’s Mental Health
Based at the University of South Florida, the Research and Training Center for Children’s Mental Health works to strengthen the empirical foundation for effective systems of care, and improve services for children with serious emotional or behavioral disorders and their families. Since 1984, we’ve addressed this mission through an integrated set of research, training, consultation, and dissemination activities.

Buddin Praed Foundation
The Buddin Praed Foundation is a public charitable foundation is committed to improving the well being of children and families. Through research and development of decision support and outcomes management tools and methods, their mission is to improve the quality of publicly funded social services for children and families.  

Chapin Hall Center for Children
Chapin Hall, located at University of Chicago, was first founded as the Chicago Nursery and Half-Orphan Asylum. Today, the research center concentrates on five primary aspects of children’s lives: economic programs for youth and families;  child welfare services;  community resources for child and youth development; community development strategies; and  education.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation
Headquartered in Baltimore, MD, the primary mission of the Anne E. Casey Foundation is to foster public policies, human service reforms and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today's vulnerable children and families.

Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law
David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law has been the nation's leading legal advocate for people with mental disabilities. The mission is to protect and advance the rights of adults and children who have mental disabilities. The Center envisions an America where people who have mental illnesses or developmental disabilities exercise their own life choices and have access to the resources that enable them to participate fully in their lives.

Maryland Partners

Governor’s Office for Children (GOC)
The Governor’s Office for Children (GOC) coordinates child and family-oriented care within the State’s child-serving agencies by emphasizing prevention, early intervention and community-based services for all children and families. The office leads the development of a three-year plan establishing goals and strategies for delivery of integrated services to children and families. GOC works to promote the well-being of children by collaborating with Local Management Boards, expanding SCYFIS (State Children Youth and Families Information System), and developing and implementing a complete Integrated Systems of Care.

Maryland's Mental Health Adminstration (MHA) Core Service Agencies (CSA)s
The CSAs are the local mental health authorities responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring public mental health services at the local level.  CSA exist under the authority of the Secretary of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and also are agents of the county government, which approve their organizational structure.  

Maryland Choices
Maryland Choices, a subsidiary of Choices, Inc., was created to administer systems of care in multiple Maryland communities. They currently have offices in both Baltimore City and Montgomery County and are providing Wraparound services.

Center for School Mental Health Analysis and Action (CSMHA)
CSMHA is a sister center within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Their mission is to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America's youth. 

Maryland' s Coalition of Families for Children's Mental Health
The Maryland Coalition of Families for Children's Mental Health is a grassroots coalition of family and advocacy organizations dedicated to improving services for children with mental health needs and their families and building a network of information and support for families across Maryland

Maryland School Mental Health Alliance
The Maryland School Mental Health Alliance is a collaboration of child-serving academic and state partners. The Alliance’s goal is to focus on a full continuum of mental health promotion, prevention, early intervention, treatment and crisis intervention in schools. It is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills related to making appropriate referrals and will improve the links among school teams, families, youths, health care providers and the larger public mental health system.
