ECMHC Evaluations at the Innovations Institute
The Early Childhood mental Health Consultation Evaluation Project is funded in whole by the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Development.
Purpose
The purpose of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program that is being implemented across the state of Maryland. In addition to the overall effectiveness of the program, we will examine whether particular aspects of the program are associated with positive short-term and long-term outcomes of the young children, parents, and early care and education (ECE) providers who receive consultation services. What is Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation?
A problem-solving and capacity-building intervention implemented within a collaborative relationship between a professional consultant with mental health expertise and one or more individuals with other areas of expertise - primarily child care, child development, and families - or individuals with child care responsibilities.
