Directions & Travel

If you are arriving by car, please park in the Grand Garage (for garage location and information, you may visit www.parking.umaryland.edu). Remember to bring your parking ticket with you so that we may validate it for you.

Registration for orientation begins at 7:00 a.m. in the Swirnow Videoscopic Center Conference Room. Please plan to stay with us until 3:00 p.m.

The University of Maryland Medical Center is located at 22 South Greene Street, which is accessible from Interstates 95, 97, 70, and 83 and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway).

Mass Transit

Bus:

• Buses 1, 2, 7, 8, 11, 20, 35 and 36 stop at the Medical Center.
• Buses 3, 15, 23, 28, 31 and 91 stop in the Medical Center area.

Subway:

• Lexington Market Station (Eutaw & Lexington Streets - 4 blocks)
• Charles Center Station (Baltimore at Charles Street - 5 blocks)

Light Rail:

Take the Central light rail line to University Center-Baltimore Street Station, which is 3 blocks from the Medical Center.

Driving Directions

From the South:  Follow I-95 to Exit 52 (Russell Street). Follow Russell as it merges into Paca Street. Proceed three blocks on Paca Street and cross over Baltimore Street. The Grand Garage will be on your right.

From the North:  Follow I-95 to Exit 53 (395-North). Bear to your right as you exit, following signs for Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Russell Street. Follow sign for Russell Street, which veers right and merges into Paca Street as you pass Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Proceed three blocks on Paca and cross over Baltimore Street. The Grand Garage will be on your right.

From I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway): Follow I-83 to the end. Proceed two traffic lights and turn right onto Lombard Street. Follow Lombard Street for 12 traffic lights and turn right onto Paca Street. Go two blocks north on Paca and cross over Baltimore Street. The Grand Garage will be on your right.

From the West: Take I-70 East to I-695 South (Glen Burnie). Follow I-695 to I-95 North.  Take Exit 52 (Russell Street). Follow Russell as it merges into Paca Street. Proceed three blocks on Paca Street and cross over Baltimore Street.  The Grand Garage will be on your right.

From Washington, DC or BWI Airport: Follow I-295 North to Baltimore.  Continue on I-295 until it becomes Russell Street. Follow Russell as it merges into Paca Street. Proceed three blocks on Paca Street and cross over Baltimore Street. The Grand Garage will be on your right.

PLEASE NOTE:  Park only in the Grand Garage. Also, remember to bring your parking ticket with you so that we may validate it. We can ONLY validate for parking in the Grand Garage.

Directions to the Hospital from the Grand Garage: Exit the garage, turn left on Paca Street and right on Baltimore Street. At Greene Street, cross to the main entrance of the hospital.

Directions to the Swirnow Videoscopic Conference Room: After entering the main or North Hospital, turn left and walk past Donna’s restaurant. At M&T Bank, turn right and proceed into the rotunda, where there are several elevators and a set of series, any of which may be taken to the fourth floor of the South Hospital. The Swirnow Laparoscopic Conference Room is S4CM08 in the C-Wing corridor.
