Samer S. El-Kamary, M.B.Ch.B., FAAP, MPH

Assistant Professor, University of Maryland School of Medicine

Dr. El-Kamary is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is a faculty member in the department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, International Health Division, and in the department of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics Division. He completed his medical training at the Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and his pediatric training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His pursued additional fellowship training in Academic Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and he completed a Masters in Public Health in International Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.

During the last three years, Dr. El-Kamary participated in several epidemiological research studies in Egypt, and conducted and assisted in several training programs for Egyptians in Egypt and in the US. The largest training program hosting Egyptians at the University of Maryland is the Health Research Ethics Training Initiative In Egypt (HRETIE), which hosts about 10 Egyptian trainees every year for two-months to complete a Certificate Course in Research Ethics (PI: Henry Silverman).
