Research Interests
Dr. DeTolla is a veterinarian with a PhD in Pathology and is currently Professor of Pathology in our Department of Pathology. He regularly reviews gross and microscopic histopathology for a wide range of species and especially mice. In addition, Dr. DeTolla is the Chief of Veterinary Resources and the Director of Comparative Medicine and oversees a group of other veterinary pathologists that are a part of his team, including Aruna Panda, DVM, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pathology, Michael Lipsky, PhD, Professor Pathology and Charles McLeod, DVM, DACVP, Chief of Veterinary Pathology. Dr. DeTolla regularly collaborates with a wide range of investigators utilizing animal models, especially in the area of infectious diseases, biohazards, biodefense, primatology and vaccine development. He is funded by NIH, DOD and industry.
