Research Interests:

My primary research interests relate to the clinical epidemiology of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Specifically, I am interested in the relation between chronic kidney disease (CKD) and ischemic brain disease and its consequences, dementia, cognitive dysfunction, and physical impairment. We are studying brain structure and cerebral blood flow in patients with CKD to identify risk factor and correlates of cognitive and physical dysfunction in this high-risk population, and testing the effect of aerobic exercise training on cognitive and physical performance.
