Research InterestsI am primarily involved in clinical care of HIV patients, and have a special interest in the care of HIV patients in resource-limited settings and related operational research. I have helped to develop a family-centered anti-retroviral program in rural Malawi, and will continue to be involved in this project, investigating pertinent clinical research questions. I have also been a member of the AIDS Relief team, helping to establish ARV programs in various international settings, primarily in Guyana and South America, and to train clinicians in HIV care. I am interested in clinical education in general, both internationally and locally, and have a special focus on facilitating international medical training for clinicians at all levels of medical training. I am interested in early detection of HIV and am working with substance abuse specialists from the Department of Psychiatry to help establish rapid HIV testing in our drug-treatment centers. I am also interested in HIV care in local prisons and will be part of a team that offers HIV care in the prisons. Faculty members:
