Research Interests:

Dr. Mendley's research interests include the impact of chronic kidney disease on growth and neurocognitive development in children, and she plays an integral role in the NIDDK-sponsored Chronic Kidney Disease in Childhood multi-center study investigating this area. She is the site PI for the NICHD-administered Pediatric Trials Network and for the NIDDK-sponsored EDIC study. Dr. Mendley has investigated optimal methods for measuring delivery of dialysis to children of all ages and sizes and how to insure adequacy of dialysis in children.

Clinical Specialty:

Dr. Mendley directs the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, supervising consultative nephrology, kidney transplantation, inpatient acute dialysis and outpatient peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis.
