Nancy Ellish is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH). She received her DrPH in occupational health from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, and her MSPH in biostatistics from the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining EPH, Dr. Ellish worked as an epidemiologist in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Prior to her work in an academic setting, Dr. Ellish worked an epidemiologist for the New York State Department of Health.
Dr. Ellish’s research interests are focused on health behavior, health communication, health disparities, and access to care, particularly as they relate to preventive eye care.
Dr. Ellish is a course master for Principles of Epidemiology, the introductory epidemiology course offered to master’s level and PhD students. She is chair of the Curriculum Committee for the Master of Public Health (MPH) program, and serves on the MPH executive committee.
