Biosketch

I have clinical interests in benign prostatic enlargement (BPH) and prostate cancer.  I treat men who have urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate with medication and , if needed, surgical procedures.  A multi-disciniplinary approach is used to mange men who have frequent urination at night. Minimally invasive options such as laser surgery are available.  Prostate cancer can be treated with robotic surgery, proton beam radiation or brachytherapy (seed radiation).  The treatment option offered is tailored to the needs of each individual patient.  In men with low grade, slow growing prostate cancer active surveillance is offered as an option to spare men the side effect risk of prostate cancer treatment.   Prostate mri scanning and mri based fusion prostate biopsies are available to improve the accuracy of prostate biopsies and to avoid unnecessary biopsies.

Research/Clinical Keywords
