After graduating from Harvard Medical School I completed an internship in Internal Medicine followed by a four-year residency in OB/GYN at University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). I then joined the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. My particular focus is on the role of infection in pre-term labor and other adverse pregancy outcomes. From 1992-1993 I spent a one-year sabatical at University College London in the Fetal Medicine Unit, concentrating on fetal ultasound and in-utero diagnosis, treatment and procedures.
