Dr. Ying conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 2006 to 2007 and then at the Ohio State University Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, where he served as an American Heart Association postdoctoral fellow from 2011 to 2013. Dr. Ying joined the faculty at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in October of 2013.

Research Interests:

Dr. Ying has over 12 years of research experience in cardiometabolic diseases including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and atherosclerosis. Currently, his research is focused on the cardiometabolic effects of exposure to ambient particulate matters, which is funded by the NIH. In the study, multimodal approaches are used to delineate the mechanism whereby exposure to ambient particulate matter induces abnormalities in blood pressure and insulin sensitivity.
