Personal History:

Dr. Heeteak Chung grew up in Southern California. He went to University of California, Irvine for undergraduate studies majoring in physics. After completing his undergraduate studies, he was introduced to the field of medical physics by working at UCI Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology as an assistant physicist for few years. In 2003, Dr. Chung decided to pursue a graduate degree in medical physics at the University of Florida, Gainesville. In 2011, he finished his studies at UF with Ph.D. in therapeutic physics. Dr. Chung completed his clinical medical physics residency at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, TX. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Chung joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2011 as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Radiation Oncology. He is currently residing in Baltimore city near Inner Harbor where he enjoys the diverse restaurants and activities in that area.
