Personal History
Dr. Bao completed her medical school training at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she received her M.D. in 2003. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD in 2006. During her residency, Dr. Bao received formal training in acupuncture at Helm Medical Acupuncture Institute affiliated with UCLA and was subsequently licensed to practice acupuncture in Maryland. Right after residency, in 2006, she enrolled in Medical Oncology Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center when she developed interest in translational breast cancer research and acupuncture research. Dr. Bao became a joint faculty at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center and Center for Integrative Medicine on 7/1/2009.Research Interests
Dr. Bao's long-term research goal is to integrate complementary and alternative medicine into oncology practice in order to improve the patients' quality of life and prevent cancer. She is also interested in studying the mechanism of acupuncture.Clinical Speciality
