Personal History:

Dr. Frayha completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University and then spent four years working for The Advisory Board Company, a health care research and consulting firm in Washington, DC. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and stayed at the University of Maryland Medical Center for residency training in Internal Medicine. She completed an additional year as Chief Resident and joined the faculty in 2010.

Dr. Frayha loves teaching and working with medical students and residents. In addition to her clinical duties, she works as an Assistant Dean in the Office of Student Affairs, advising students and serving as the primary liaison for the school's dual degree students. For two years, she also served as an Associate Director of the Internal Medicine residency program, spearheading the residency's research and mentorship programs. As part of this effort, she created and launched new educational conferences, including the Monthly Resident Research Forum and an annual Resident Research Grand Rounds.

Currently, Dr. Frayha serves as faculty co-advisor of the School of Medicine's chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She has collaborated with two colleagues in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine to create an Internship Preparation Camp experience for graduating medical students. In her spare time, she is an avid podcast listener and amateur independent radio producer.
