Research Interests:

Dr. Travassos is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist and member of the Institute for Global Health's Division of Malaria Research. His research focuses on malaria pathogenesis and epidemiology, with a particular focus on the contribution of parasite variant surface antigens to the development of cerebral malaria.

Dr. Travassos's research also includes work in Ethiopia assessing vaccine coverage through the use of serosurveys.
