Preventive Medicine Residency (PMR) Program/MPH

In the two-year PMR program, residents complete didactic, research, teaching, and field rotation activities, and earn a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree Epidemiology concentration. Both academic and practicum phases of the PMR are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and fulfill the requirements for certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Are there specific areas of study within the MPH?

The residents complete the Epidemiology concentration as part of the residency program. 

When is the MPH application deadline?

Applicants must ensure that all of the application elements are submitted by the final deadline (May 1st). 

How do I apply to the MPH program?

Applicants must submit a supplemental application and supporting materials.  Follow the instructions below.

Supplemental application:

Create a login and select MPH – Master of Public Health. This application is submitted online. In addition to the detailed application information questions within the supplemental application, the following will be requested.

  • Supplemental application fee (Paid by credit card or by submitting a non-refundable check made out to the University of Maryland Baltimore in the amount of $50.)

Supporting materials:

The MPH Program will obtain other application components from the applicant’s ERAS application.
