Faculty members within the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine are involved in a variety of prevention-related and policy research areas.

Among other projects, this includes:

• Development of programs for nutrition education, and assessment of the impact of such education in community-based settings

• Development and evaluation of smoking, alcohol, and drug cessation programs

• Occupational health

• Injury epidemiology and control

• Identification of individual risk factors/predictors for recurrent violence

• Health workforce studies

• Genetic health services research

• Studies of health disparities

• Latino health
