UM SOM: Department of Endocrinology
Pharmacogenomics of Anti-Platelet Interaction (PAPI)
The goal of this study is to understand why some people do not respond to commonly used medications to prevent heart attacks including aspirin and clopidogrel (Plavix). This 8-day study involves taking clopidogrel and aspirin and having blood samples tested to see how well the medications prevent the blood from clotting. PAPI participants also get free testing for heart problems, high cholesterol, liver, kidney, and thyroid problems, and monetary compensation for their time and effort. To date, more than 275 subjects have participated in this study. If you are interested in participating in this study, please call or write.
