The mission of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition at the University of Maryland is to provide excellence in clinical care of patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders, to find cures and new treatments for these diseases through cutting edge research, and to educate and train present and future health care providers and medical researchers.

Under the leadership of Alan R. Shuldiner, MD, the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition is one of the largest Divisions of Endocrinology in the country with 32 full-time faculty.

The division provides a highly stimulating, academic and nurturing research environment, and has extensive collaborations with other research groups on campus and around the world.

We also provide a comprehensive fellowship program providing both clinical exposure to all major endocrinopathies and training in clinical and basic research.
