About DMRT
The Department of Medical and Research Technology (DMRT) is the largest accredited medical technology program in the state of Maryland, and confers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our graduates are working in hospitals, clinics, laboratories and research institutions throughout the state of Maryland, and across the country.

The DMRT is a department within the University of Maryland School of Medicine on the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) campus. The DMRT is located in the Allied Health Building on two floors consisting of 22,000 square feet of space. Facilities include two lecture halls, four student laboratories capable of handling 60 students each, a student/faculty resource room, a tissue culture laboratory, a pathogen laboratory, five research laboratories, 18 faculty/staff offices, and a conference room.
The UMB campus includes six professional schools (Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Social Work and Nursing), an interdisciplinary graduate school offering post-baccalaureate education and research in conjunction with the professional schools, and the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).
