Stephen Reich, MD, Is First Recipient of the Frederick Henry Prince Distinguished Professorship in Neurology
An investiture ceremony was held on September 22, 2011 to award Stephen Reich, MD, the Frederick Henry Prince Distinguished Professorship in Neurology. This professorship was established through a generous gift from Diana Prince and her husband Frederick through the Frederick Henry Prince Memorial Fund.

Donors Dine on Behalf of the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine
On Sunday, September 18, 2011, more than 130 guests gathered at the new Rooftop Olive Room restaurant at the Inn at the Black Olive in downtown Baltimore to enjoy a sold-out evening of fine food and networking. Proceeds from ticket sales and the silent & live auctions at the event will support stem cell research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine.

Unversity of Maryland School of Medicine Students Visit Lawmakers in Annapolis to Seek Support for Medical Education
In face-to-face meetings with lawmakers, students discussed loan repayment assistance programs, funding for scholarships and infrastructure projects, the problem of physician shortages, and the positive impact the School of Medicine’s research success has had on state revenue.

University of Maryland President Jay Perman, MD, announced today that Bruce Jarrell, MD, FACS, has been named Chief Academic and Research Officer (CARO) and Senior Vice President. Dr. Jarrell will also be Dean of the Graduate School.
