Dr. Gaspari Featured in TLC Documentary
Don't miss the basic cable premiere of the documentary "Half Man, Half Tree," featuring the chair of our department, Anthony Gaspari, MD. It will air as part of the TLC program My Shocking Story on Wednesday January 9, 2008 at 9pm.
Shot in Indonesia this summer, "Half Man, Half Tree" tells the amazing story of Dede, a former fisherman in a remote village in Indonesia who has a very rare skin disease that causes root-like structures to grow out of his body. Dr. Gaspari traveled to the other side of the world to give him hope for recovery from this mysterious and life-threatening condition.
The documentary was shown throughout Europe last month to excellent reviews and was also the most-watched program ever aired on the Fox Discovery Channel. To set a reminder to watch, click here.
