Applications are due Wednesday, January 2, 2008
How to Apply
Applicants for the MCRCDP are strongly advised to seek advice from and work with the program director, Alan Shuldiner, MD, a Multidisciplinary Advisory Committee (MAC) member or their respective department chair, faculty member, or current mentor in the development of their applications. Applications from outside the University of Maryland, Baltimore are encouraged and will be coordinated with the relevant department chair.
1. Identify an appropriate mentor(s).
Applicants are required to identify a potential primary mentor prior to submission of the MCRCDP application. MCRCDP Scholars are required to have at least two mentors, a primary and secondary mentor. The primary mentor must be an outstanding clinical investigator with significant prior experience mentoring trainees. The secondary mentor may be a clinical investigator with less experience in mentoring others, or they are basic scientists who are part of multidisciplinary research programs that include clinical investigation or translational research. Applicants external to UMB may work with the Program Director or the relevant Department Chair to identify an appropriate mentor.
2. Submit a letter of intent by Wednesday, November 14, 2007.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a letter of intent. Submission of a letter of intent is optional and non-binding. Submission of a letter of intent will not be considered in the application review process. It will, however, allow us to ensure that the Scholar Selection Study Section has adequate representation across disciplines.
3. Submit the application and required documentation by Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
All materials will be accepted until 5:00 PM on January 2, 2008.
