Common-Use Equipment
The Biopolymer/Genomics Core Facility maintains a number of instruments that are available for investigators to use once they have been properly trained. Investigators are responsible for any consumables necessary, and user fees charged are necessary to cover maintenance costs.
These instruments include:
- GE/Molecular Dynamics Storm 860
- Perkin Elmer/Wallac Victor 2 Microplate Reader
- Agilent Bioanalyzer model 2100
- Molecular Devices Axon Genepix 4000B
- Applied Biosystems 7900HT Fast rtPCR system
- A variety of Beckman HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis instrumentation
Some instrumentation is available on a 24/7 basis (Storm 860 and Wallac Victor 2) while the remaining instruments are available only during normal BGCF business hours, 7am until 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
The Storm, Wallac, and Axon scanner are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, although investigators with time-dependant experiments can reserve time for those instances.
The Applied Biosystems 7900HT Fast system has a calendar sign up sheet. We will soon have an electronic (online) calendar available, check back here soon for the link to the calendar.
The Agilent Bioanalyzer, HPLC, and CE instrumentation can be made available through scheduling directly with Core Facility staff. Please call ahead to schedule time since these instruments are used frequently by core staff.
