Medical Student Education

The Department of Anesthesiology takes an active role in training medical students at the University of Maryland School of Medicine through the following courses and educational opportunities:

ANES 541
This is an anesthesiology elective offered to fourth-year medical students.
ANES 542
This is a pain management elective offered to fourth-year medical students.

ANES 548
This is a subinternship in Surgical Critical Care Anesthesiology for fourth-year medical students.

EXTERNSHIPS 
Four- and eight-week externships are available in many anesthesia sub-specialties.
