Medical Students

The Department of Anesthesiology takes an active role in training medical students at the University of Maryland School of Medicine through the following courses and educational opportunities:

ANES 548-01

This is a four-week subinternship in Surgical Critical Care Anesthesiology for fourth-year medical students.

ANES 541-01

This is a four-week anesthesiology elective at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Medical Center offered to fourth-year medical students.

ANES 542-01

This is a four-week pain management elective offered to fourth-year medical students.

EXTERNSHIPS

Four- and eight-week externships are available in many anesthesia sub-specialties.
