Director of Pain Management
The University of Maryland is seeking a Director of its Pain Management Division. Candidates must be board-certified in anesthesiology and fellowship-trained and certified by the ABA in pain management. The multidisciplinary pain management practice is rapidly expanding and includes an active interventional pain management component. Ample opportunities for teaching and research exist within an ACGME approved Pain Medicine fellowship. Research experience and interest are encouraged. Director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
Candidates must be board-certified in anesthesiology, fellowship-trained (or equivalent) in cardiac anesthesiology, possess credentials in echocardiography and qualify for appointment at the associate professor or professor level. Currently, anesthesia services are provided for approximately 1,000 cardiac cases (including both on and off bypass, minimally-invasive valves, robotics, VADs and lung/heart transplants) and 500 thoracic cases. It is expected that the successful candidate will lead a busy clinical service, mentor and direct an expanding group of 7 faculty and 2 fellows (ACGME- approved subspecialty training), develop a division-wide research focus and represent the department in multiple hospital-wide initiatives in heart care. Anesthesiology Critical Care Faculty
The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland is expanding its Critical-Care Services. We are actively recruiting qualified candidates who are board certified in Anesthesiology and BE/BC in Critical-Care. The Critical-Care Division manages all neurosurgical and neurology patients in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit and shares equally in coverage responsibility for the Surgical Critical Care Unit with the Department of Surgery’s Division of Critical Care. The surgical intensive care unit patient population includes all adult services except for cardiac and trauma. Major admitting services include: transplantation (liver, pancreas, kidney), vascular, thoracic, ENT, Oral-Maxillofacial and general surgery. Education of residents, fellows and students is an important mission of the Division. The Department also has an Anesthesiology Critical Care fellowship training program, including a research track with the National Institute of Health. There are ample opportunities to get involved in funded basic science or clinical research.
