Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology
The University of Maryland division of pediatric anesthesiology comprises five full-time, fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists with extensive clinical experience in peri-operative medicine, critical care and pain medicine for neonates, infants, children and adolescents. We work in a modern, child-friendly surgical center and staff over 2500 operating room and non-operating room diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for healthy as well as high-risk pediatric patients, including cardiovascular procedures. We also supervise busy pediatric moderate sedation (~ 500 patients/yr) and pediatric acute pain management services (~ 300 patients/year). Residents participate in all venues with close supervision by faculty, and their clinical experiences typically exceed ABA case requirements for pediatrics.
