Our research division's faculty conducts research in clinical anesthesiology, acute lung injury, neurodegeneration and neuroprotection, human factors, telemedicine, and basic respiratory physiology.

We also collaborate with researchers at UMMC, the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Chan was awarded: “Best Abstract in Basic Sciences” for his research  poster and oral presentation “The Effects of Hyperoxic Resuscitation on Microglial Activation in a Rat Polytrauma Model of Traumatic Brain Injury Plus Hemorrhagic Shock” at Anesthesiology 2015 in San Diego, CA, October 24 – 28, 2015.
