If you type your handheld password ten times incorrectly, all information is
erased from your handheld. If your handheld is integrated with an email account
using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, some security settings might differ. For
more information, contact your system administrator.
Setting a password:

In the handheld options, click Security.

Click on the Password field and select Change Option.

Click on Enabled.

Click the trackwheel.
-
Scroll to and click Save.

Type a handheld password.

Click the trackwheel
-
Retype the handheld password.

Click the trackwheel.
Change the handheld password:

In the handheld options, click Security.
-
Click the trackwheel.
-
Click Change Password.
-
Click the trackwheel.
-
Type your current handheld password.

Type a new handheld password.
-
Click the trackwheel.
-
Retype the handheld password.

Click the trackwheel.
Setting the automatic timeout:

In the handheld options, click Security.
-
Click Security Timeout.
-
Click Change Option.
-
Click the desired time (2 Min).
-
Click the trackwheel.
-
Click Save.
Lock/Unlock the Handheld:
To lock your handheld with a handheld password set, on the Home screen, click
Lock. To unlock your handheld, on the Lock screen, roll the trackwheel. In the
"Enter password" dialog box, type your password.
Content protection:
Content protection encrypts your handheld data. When your handheld is password
locked, an open lock in the handheld status section of the screen indicates
that encryption is in progress. A closed lock indicates that encryption is
complete. After you type your handheld password, data on your handheld is
decrypted as you access it. To use content protection, you must have a handheld
password enabled.
Encrypting the handheld's contents:

In the handheld options, click Security.

Set the Content Protection field to Enabled.

Click the trackwheel.

Click Save.
-
Click the trackwheel.
-
Click Save.
-
Type your handheld password.

Click the trackwheel.
Note:If you have not enabled your handheld password before you enable content
protection, you are prompted to set a handheld password when you save the
security settings.
