This document explains how to use the HP security utility to safeguard your
HP Jornada and the data it holds.
Setting a password:
When a password has been created and enabled, it will have to be entered each
time the HP Jornada is started up, and whenever the HP security application is
opened. To set a password, follow these steps:

Tap Start, Settings, and then on the Personal tab, tap the HP
Security
icon.

On the Primary
tab, enter a four-digit password by tapping the on-screen keypad.

Select the Enable password protection
check box

Tap OK.

Save any unsaved data in any open applications.

Perform a soft reset by pushing the red button on the back of the HP Jornada
once. A soft reset will not delete any saved data.

You should now be prompted to enter a password
Setting a Password Delay:
The delay feature is convenient if you frequently turn your HP Jornada on and
off to conserve power. It allows you to set a short delay time before requiring
the password. To set a password delay, follow these steps:

Set your primary password.

Select the Delay activation after suspend for
check box.

Using the input panel, enter a number of minutes for the delay.
Creating a Reminder Password:
To create a reminder password, to be used in case you forget the primary
password, follow the steps below:

Tap Start, Settings, and then on the Personal tab, tap the HP
Security
icon.

On the Reminder tab, use the input panel to enter a question phrase in
the Question
box.

Enter the Answer to your reminder password Question. The
"answer" is your reminder password.

Select the Enable reminder password
check box.

In the Prompt after box, enter the number of times you want to try your
primary password before HP security prompts you with the question for your
reminder password.
To enable security logging:

On the Log tab, select the Enable logging
check box.
To use security logging:
-
Entries will appear in the table on the Log tab.

To clear all entries, tap Clear Log.

To export the log to a file, tap Export Log.
