Description and Goals:

This elective provides students with the opportunity to spend five days a week with the University of Maryland's Program of Assertive Community Treatment, a mobile, intensive psychiatric outreach program serving persons with severe and chronic psychiatric illnesses whose needs have not been met in traditional mental health settings. The program is staffed by three attendings as well as residents and fellows. Students will have closely supervised clinical experience in field and home as well as office settings.
