Application Instructions

Dear Applicant,

The process of applying to the Summer Research Programs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and its foreign sites has become nearly paperless for the majority of our programs. While you can download an EXAMPLE of an application. Applications must be submitted electronically through our web site. The only part of the document that you actually have to fill out and submit is the one for your transcript and "Letter of Standing."

  1. Go to the Student Login site at http://medschool.umaryland.edu/OSR/registration/.

  2. Enter your e-mail address and a password (one that you can easily remember) and click on "Login". You can come back to your application whenever you wish. If you forget your password, you can be prompted to remember it.

  3. A Memorandum (similar to the example) will appear detailing the content of the application and the process to follow. The application will appear in "stages" and you can re-visit any section until the application is complete.

  4. After reading the memorandum, continue on to the various stages of the application:
    1. Stage I, Applicant Information
    2. Stage II, Academic Information
    3. Stage III, Choice of Program
    4. Stage IV, Recommendations
    5. Stage V, Essays
    6. Stage VI, Contract
